My dad required a trip to Hong Kong for some urgent matters and I made the trip from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong.
We arrived after a 4 hour flight in Chek Lap Kok Hong Kong International Airport. We took the A21 bus from Hong Kong Airport and was in Jordan in about 35 minutes.
From Jordan MTR station, it was a short walk passing by Novotel and directly opposite was Rainbow Hotel.
They had recently renovated the place and everything was new and chic. Do not be too bothered with the exterior.
Hong Kong is a very humid city and it is difficult to upkeep exteriors of buildings.
The rooms were clean, wifi was present everywhere and provided free.
I would say that the rooms were functional but the my usual complaints was the doors slammed really loudly and it did disturb me but then this is a personal preference
Breakfast meals were functional and I would forego the breakfast in hotels for a real breakfast outside.
If the meal came with the price of the room, feel free to indulge in sub-par food but if you had to pay extra for it, please avoid it and head out for a real local meal.
Service is prompt and courteous. The staff speak good English and will be able to assist people like me who are more English than Cantonese. There is a map of Hong Kong at the reception desk in case you forgot to grab one at the airport.
For a room around SDG110 per night, it is a good bargain and if you do not mind staying in Kowloon rather than Hong Kong island.
