Penang : Kek Lok Si Temple

_MG_0561-pressThis is the largest Buddhist temple in South East Asia. Construction of Kek Lok Si started in 1890 and thru the years have seen mass commercialization take place at every level of the temple complex.

You may drive up to the temple but some may decide to walk from the market of Air Itam. The walk is about 15 to 20 minutes.

It was a sunny day and on days like these, you need sunblock.

Legend has it that at night, a guard saw this fish missing but found a large fish swimming in the pool. Myth or magic?

In 2009, the shelter for the goddess of mercy was inaugurated. Construction started in 2005.

You can get another spectacular panorama of Georgetown, Penang from up here.

There is a gazebo for you to enjoy the waterfall.

I just found these to be cute.
