Thailand : Krabi

IMG_1212-press

This is probably my first self planned vacation. I had to do it noob style and engaged a tour guide that arranged the hotels and also the tours. The plane took off from Kuala Lumpur and headed to Krabi. This was my search for The Beach, the 2000 movie staring Leonardo DiCaprio which triggered a tourist boom in the region. Everyone was looking for The Beach.

The tour agency ( Seetho Holidays) arranged the airport pickup.

The town of Ao Nang is the beach town about 40 minutes from Krabi. It is your typical beach town filled with stalls and stores selling wares for your beach life.

The roads were very European. It was peak season. Jan to March is typically the peak season here with hotels costing more and the roads looking like a road in Italy or France.

Ronald even wishes you Thai style.

Massage parlors line the streets and you can get an hour of massage for RM20.

The Ao Nang beach is the perfect place to watch the sun set.

Most boats are anchored here for the evening.

A busy day of travel comes to a close. The day winds down and it is time for dinner and sleep. Tomorrow will be a long day.
